I CANNOT RESIST....

Ha! I bet you all thought I was going to say "these shoes", didn't you? I cannot resist buying thin-skinned lemons with the leaves still attached, such as these. The perfume is heavenly.
On another food-related matter, a pleasant waitress in one of the bars seems concerned for the state of my soul because I eat meat on a Friday. I'm sure Dorothy Parker's maxim can be applied to foodie sins as well:
"Whose love is given over-well
Shall look on Helen's face in hell,
Whilst they whose love is thin and wise
May view John Knox in paradise."
Buona Pasqua a tutti!

Reminds me of our trip when we were walking through the gardens at the Caves in Syracuse.

  2. I don't eat meat on a Friday either, my Greek mother drilled that into me because of the crucifixion.

I always have hot water and lemon first thing every morning, I swear by it.

Have a very happy Easter Welshcakes. If you have a memoment to check out Welsh Jenny who posted a comment on my last post, you may find a kindred spirit, she is also a teacher, but still in the valleys.

They would make a nice lemonade. I'm not that religious, so I eat meat whenever the fancy hits me.

  9. Ciao, Lee. April 18th is citrus liqueur drinking day! Hi, Steve. Yes, I should make some lemonade as well! M, Buona Pasqua a te. Thanks, Liz. And you have a wonderful Welsh one. Simi says: "Hi, Harvey. Have a great Easter and don't do anything I would!"

  10. Wah! I never read that before!

Dorothy Parker is da bomb, as my nephew Wolfie would say.

Those lemons look wonderful. Every lemon tree I've planted in our back yard in the last 12 years has died. Our soil is too alkaline and contains too much clay. I miss the smell of lemon and orange blossoms.

  11. Hi, Bonnie. Is "da bomb" good or bad? That's a pity about your lemon trees not growing. I always imagined you amongst loads of them!
